Installation & Maintenance

• Pre-check: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is OFF and the manual gas supply valve on the tank is CLOSED.
  Step 1: Relieve Pressure: Briefly start the engine (if possible) after closing the manual valve to burn off residual gas in the lines, or slowly loosen the fitting to bleed pressure.
  Step 2: Disconnect Electricals: Unplug the 2-pin waterproof connector. Inspect the harness for any signs of melting or corrosion.
  Step 3: Remove the Old Valve: Use a wrench to unscrew the gas line fittings. Be careful not to damage the threads on the fuel rail or pipe.
  Step 4: Align Direction: Most solenoid valves have an arrow indicating the direction of gas flow. Ensure the arrow points toward the engine (mixer/injector).
  Step 5: Sealing: Use gas-rated thread sealant (like yellow Teflon tape or specialized liquid sealant) on the pipe threads. Do not get sealant inside the valve.
  Step 6: Reconnect & Test: Tighten the fittings, plug in the electrical connector, and slowly open the gas tank valve.
• Maintenance Tips
  1. Leak Testing (Soap Test): After installation and periodically during service, spray a mixture of soapy water on the fittings. If bubbles appear, tighten the connection or re-apply sealant.
  2. Electrical Cleaning: Use electronic contact cleaner on the 2-pin plug to prevent resistance build-up, which can cause the valve to fail to open.
  3. Filter Check: Since this is a low-pressure valve, ensure the upstream gas filter is replaced on schedule. Debris from the tank can lodge in the solenoid seat, preventing it from closing fully.
  4. Coil Inspection: Check for cracks in the plastic solenoid housing. High engine heat can cause the casing to crack, leading to internal short circuits.
